Questions
Do parents or drivers need to install an app?
No. Both use SpudBus in their phone's browser. Drivers can add it to their home screen so it opens like an app.
Do we need any equipment on the buses?
No. While a run is under way the driver's phone reports where the bus is.
What happens when the driver loses signal?
The register keeps working. Marks are stored on the phone with the time they were made, and sent when the signal returns.
Can a child see the bus without an account?
Yes. A parent can send them a link that shows when their bus will arrive, and nothing else. It works on one device and can be switched off at any time.
Where is our data held?
In London, with our servers in Europe. The privacy notice lists everyone who handles it.
Is it only for schools?
No. It works for anyone running minibuses to a timetable. See who else it suits.
